And I guess that was another week! Hi guys how is everything going?

Sport:
Although the NPC is over there is still plenty of sport to be had, so
getting right into it: Russell Coutts has won gold at the Bermuda regatta,
Scott Dixon has won the final race of the Indy Lights to win the
championship. It looks like next year, he has a ride with a proper Indy
team. A useless bit of trivia but Scott was actually a camper at CYC and
Shane was his cabin leader! Apparently he told Shane back then that one
day he was going to be a Formulae 1 driver - and he's well on his way...
NZ Cricket is 3-0 down against South Africa & it could be another
whitewash for the series :-( Jeff Wilson is looking to make his mind up
about whether or not he is going to start playing rugby again.
The NZ Paralympics team did really well with 6 gold, 8 silver, and 4
bronze.
Glen Mitchell won the tour of Southland 900km bike race with NZ's new
world junior road champion Jeremy Yates coming second. An excellent result
for both of them!
NZ beat Lebanon 64-0 in their opening Rugby League World Cup match. Who
even heard of Lebanon playing league???? And the NZ Maori's beat Scotland
17-16. I don't quite understand it but I gather the NZ Maoris are in as a
separate team.

That's enough sport, on to general news.
NZ won the lamb war with the US over tariffs. WTO ruled in NZ's (&
co-complainants Australia's) favour saying that USA couldn't charge us the
tariffs that they were.
Hosting the America's Cup was reportedly worth $640 million to New Zealand
- maybe it was worth it ;-)
One Tree Hill is now to be known as None Tree Hill after the tree had to
be removed because it was getting dangerous. There was lots of debate &
basically no one south of the Bombays really cares!
Less than half of WestpacTrust's customers are happy with their service.
Mind you I'd say that most bank customers would be unhappy! The fees they
charge these days are horrible. This will probably give more ammo to Jim
Anderton's "Peoples Bank", which while good in theory, will also be there
to make money - so will it really be any better than anyone else??

So that must about be it. On a personal note we had my niece's 1st
birthday party and dedication on the weekend, so that was a blast to see
all the family & friends.

Have a good one.
