Submitted by weekender on Mon, 22/12/2008 - 05:48After a bit of a break the Weekender is heading back to UK - which if you didn't know was where it first went from the beginning!
Of course, this is the final weekender before Christmas and while I'll be enjoying summer weather (and some of you will be enjoying a white Christmas!) I may not be around as I have a bit of a break over New Years. So have a great season - keep safe if you are travelling!

I knew it had been quite warm & hot, but I was surprised that this week Hamilton announced water restrictions (just times for sprinklers - but still...). Farmers on the East Coast (especially Hawkes Bay area) are preparing to return to drought conditions.

We have had a good spring - maybe not quite enough rain for the farmers but everyone is enjoying the sun. In fact it's almost been too hot this week - and we're still in November!
