Team New Zealand held their nerve after a great start to the latest round of the MedCup yachting circuit in Sardinia this week. They won their second successive regatta by finishing third, first & second on the final day. They finished 14.5 points ahead of Matador from Argentina.

The Warriors took on a weakened (due to Origin duty) Canterbury Bulldogs in Auckland today - and lost 14-18. So now they are saying the loss is a "potentially fatal hit" to their playoff chances. So perhaps they have a mathematical chance but they haven't looked like making the playoffs all season!

This morning was blue sky & sunshine but the weather deteriorated during the day & the wind is freezing. The weekend forecast even predicted possible snow in the Coromandel.
